Question: What is exhaust filter depth loading?

Answer: Depth loading describes how much material (overspray) it will hold. This drastically impacts how well a given filter performs over its service life.

Filters begin trapping material in the denser air exit side.

Over the filters life overspray builds towards the less dense face of the filter.

Your spray booth intake filters should be installed with the tacky side towards the spray chamber and your exhaust filters denser side towards the exhaust plenum or pit. This will ensure proper depth loading performance and maximum life.
