Question: I am building a home made spray booth, what size should I make the exhaust filter banks?

Answer: While we do not recommend building a home made spray booth under any circumstances due to safety and legal reasons, the reality is there are many in existence. Commercial spray booths utilize non-sparking, tubeaxial or vaneaxial exhaust fans, require explosion-proof lights and electrical components, comprehensive fire suppression systems in addition to extensive permitting process depending on the proposed installation location. If you cannot build a booth that meets or exceeds your local governing bodies standards and pass an inspection by fire and air quality departments, do not attempt to construct or operate a home made spray booth. That said, by far the most common and cost effective exhaust filters would be fiberglass 20" x 20".
