Question: How can I determine the best exhaust filter to use in my setup?
Answer: Most people replace their exhaust filters with the same material that came with the booth originally. Fiberglass filters are used by many manufacturers as OEM equipment because they are relatively low cost and perform well 98% or better. However there are higher efficiency exhaust filter materials available such as expanded paper or polyester.Many booths today will readily accept these higher efficiency filters as drop in replacements. We suggest higher volume operations use one of these media types due to their higher material holding capacity, increased overspray removal efficiency and the exhaust-side equipment protection this provides (fan, butterfly damper, fire supression, etc). These higher efficiency filters do cost a bit more up front, but the increased service life and filter change duration easily offset the cost over time.
