Spray Booth Intake Filters

Q: I see filters performance ratings are based on particles from 5-10 microns, what is a micron?
  • A micron is a unit of measurement equal to approximately 1 millionth of a meter or 1/25,400 of an inch.
Q: What do the .5oz, .75oz, 1oz (etc) ratings mean for the polyester media you sell?
  • This refers to the density of the polyester media per square foot. The more dense media is, the more it weighs per square foot.
Q: How much "tacky" is applied to your intake filters?
  • The 300 Series .35oz, CT Series .70oz, P Series .70oz, 5000 Series 1.4oz and the LaminarIII gets 2.8oz per square foot.
Q: What is the maximum temp your intake media can withstand in my heated booth?
  • Our filters will survive exposure to temps exceeding 350 degrees F(176 C). Typical bake cycles top out around 220 degrees F (104 C)
Q: Which side of the filter goes inside the booth?!
  • The "tacky" side is the air exit side and therefore should be installed to the inside of the spray booth.
Q: How long should my intake filters last?
  • Due to the enviornmental factors that exist at every location (shop / intake air cleanliness, etc), intake filter life will vary. Some very general numbers are as follows

    Prefilters: 320-400 Hours
    300 Series: 400 Hours
    CT & 5000 Series: 500 Hours
    LaminarIII: 2000 Hours

Spray Booth Exhaust Filters

Q: What do the weight ratings mean for your fiberglass spray booth exhaust filters (14 gram, 18 gram, etc)?
  • This refers to the weight of the exhaust media per square foot, similar to the Oz rating of intake filter media.
Q: How long should my exhaust filters last?
  • The volume of production and material being sprayed determines the effective life of your spray booth exhaust filters. Some very general numbers are as follows

    Fiberglass: 2-3 Weeks
    Expanded Paper: 3-4 Weeks
    Polyester: 1-2 Weeks
    Styrobaffle: 4-8 Weeks
Q: How do I use my manometer to determine when its time to change the exhaust filters?
  • With fresh filters installed, start your booth. Using the calibration dial, adjust the manometer to zero. You should change your filters when te manometer reads between 1/2" and 1"

Q: How long will it take to ship my order?
  • The most common filters and components typically ship within 24-48 hours from the time you place your order. Other items typically ship within 3 to 4 days. Every product page lists an items turn around time.

  • Below is a chart that lists approximate transit times for UPS ground shipments. If you require a different (faster) shipping method, please contact us and we can make that arrangement and provide you with an updated price.
